With my new battleship I could go higher but high fps - especially fluid camera movement/panning - are priority for me.
Improved ist the sweet spot for me as I don´t want to tinker around with the setting before every scenario and it should cover a wide range of recent gen systems with a good performace base, +/- as one sees fit. I (with an older system) rarely play above "Balanced" or "Fast".ģd texture quality should probably always be set to Best however, as any graphics card whatsoever can deal with it these days.įor most systems roughly at this point the performance investment starts to steeply increase. FPS slows to a crawl on anything but the smallest & flattest advises never playing above "Improved". "Best" '3d model quality' is badly optimized & probably should be called "Screenshot mode" or something. Now it is not obvious in the link you provided but my Afghanistan mod actually comes in two versions : one with modtags and one without them. The thing is that if you use modtags then the mod itself will only be active and therefore visible in the game if the corresponding modtag has been added in the editor by the scenario designer or by yourself and it won't work at all for quickbattles for the simple reason that quickbattles don't have modtags.

You install this version and forget about it no need to remove it from your Z folder ever. This can be cumbersome, that's why there is a second way outlined below. So the workaround is to remove the mod when playing in a different theatre/setting and reinstall it when playing in Afghanistan. This archive is designed to streamline the installation of the new dark engine patches to a simple drag-and-drop. Unfortunately the same can not be said of System Shock 2. While the money may not go to the talent behind the titles, support goes beyond putting cash in the pockets of the producers. Lastly, please show your support! The patch is confirmed to work with the Steam version, GoG version, and retail copies. I would suggest a folder such as C:\Games.īefore you patch, make sure the games are on their latest official version. This can make it difficult to tweak, mod, and configure certain settings and games. When installing, select a directory that is NOT program files. If you're moving from an older install, be sure you back up your user.bnd's and your save folder. īefore you start with patching any of the games, it is strongly advised you start with a fresh install. These patches are currently being tested thoroughly by the experts of Dark Engine games over at TTLG's forums, if you come across any issues, please report them there. The Dark engine games ar now modernized, and all issues with running them are effectively eliminated.
